What is the best box hair color to use?

I have always gone to the salon and this is the first time using permanent box color. I dye my hair a lighter brown than my natural color and I already have highlights as well. I saw an infomercial about a new Foam hair color but I don't know if that would work for me since I only want to color my roots. HELP PLEASEE LOL
